General League Rules 2010

1.                  Applications from new clubs and registration forms from existing league clubs wishing to play in any section of the League must be received in writing by the League Secretary by 31st December of the year preceding the start of the season.

2.                  Each team, with the exception of Kwik Cricket teams, will pay an annual subscription, which will be decided at the Annual General Meeting within 1 month of the invoice date. A £10 fine maybe levied by the committee to any club in breach of this rule.

3.                  The Management Committee shall arrange the initial fixture list for each section. Clubs may, by mutual agreement, rearrange fixtures but shall only do so before a date to be decided by the Management Committee. Each club involved shall, before that deadline, notify the league fixture secretary, in writing, of any rearranged fixture. Any further changes, other than those already covered by weather cancellation provisions shall not be allowed unless written permission to do so has been granted by the Management committee. Any club being unable to fulfil the original or rearranged fixture shall forfeit the match. The deadline for the 2009 season is Friday 17th April 2009.

4.                  In the event of a game being called off or not being completed due to adverse weather condition, then, with the mutual agreement of both managers the game may be re-arranged within the season. If no agreement can be made the points shall be shared. If in the opinion of the Management Committee undue advantage is taken of this rule by any club, it shall deal with it according to its own discretion

5.                 All disputes will be settled by the Management Committee, whose decision will be final.

6.                  Evening matches should start at 6.00pm, but no later than 6 30pm. The home team shall bat first. In the event of a venue being altered for any fixture, the home team shall be as printed in the fixture list.

7.                   Both teams shall provide a competent umpire and scorer.

8.                  Each club shall provide its own balls for use when fielding. The ball(s) to be used must be submitted to and approved by the umpires before the commencement of the match when indication shall be given to which is the first ball.

9.                 Match result cards shall be posted by the home team to the League Result Secretary within four days of the game being played Result cards shall contain details of all players and relevant facts.

9i Failure to comply with this requirement shall result in the offending team incurring a points deduction amounting to the number of points normally awarded for a win as defined in rule 10.Result cards must also be submitted if the points are shared after a rain affected game. If a game is to be re-arranged this must also be communicated to the results secretary.

10.              Points shall be awarded as follows -Win 4 pts, Tie, Draw or Abandoned games 2 pts, Any club failing to fulfil a fixture shall forfeit the points

11.         In the event of two or more teams gaining the same number of points the Championship will be decided by play-offs.

12.               Where a club enters two teams in a competition the club shall nominate a squad of 8 players in pairs competitions and 11 players in the 11 a side competitions who will form their senior squad. These nominated players may only play in the senior of the two teams.

13.               In all age groups girls shall be eligible to play up to two years over age

14.               Matches shall be played according to section rules.

15.             Each member club of the Bassetlaw and District Junior Cricket League is responsible for ensuring that team managers, coaches and other volunteer helpers have undergone the required CRB checking as detailed by the Nottinghamshire Cricket Board and ECB procedures.

16.             Clubs should adopt the recommendations on CRB, Self Certification of volunteers and the appointment of a Club Child Welfare Officer.

 

Trophies and Individual Awards

 

Each winning club shall be responsible for the insurance and engraving of the trophies it holds during the ensuing twelve months.

Each trophy must be returned to the League Secretary no later than 1st August.
